On Wednesday, June 4, a team of Valley Queen and FFA volunteers grilled, wrapped, and served nearly 2,400 cheeseburgers during Cheeseburger Day – a Dairy Month celebration. Accompanied by live bluegrass music from the New Porch Pickers, the community enjoyed lively conversations, butter-making demonstrations, cheese tasting, and delicious cheeseburgers made with Valley Queen Cojack cheese. Attendees gave generously to support Milbank’s FFA.
New to the event this year, Valley Queen had tankers on site for families to explore. 2025 Miss Milbank Jericho Jones, helped to greet the guests along with Miss Wilmot Scarlett Renville and Junior Miss Wilmot Stella Saxton.
On Thursday, June 5, Valley Queen summer hires and interns grilled nearly 1,100 additional burgers for larger producer orders and employees. This brought the total number of burgers served to nearly 3,500.
Jon Rogers, communications coordinator for Valley Queen, said, “It was a fantastic event, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers. All proceeds from Cheeseburger Day benefited the local FFA program, and this year, we were proud to present them with more than $9,800!”
