Milbank Gets Win at Waubay-Summit

The varsity Lady Bulldogs emerged victorious in a five-set battle with Waubay-Summit on Tuesday, September 16. Final set scores were 25-23, 15-25, 13-25, 27-25, and 15-5 .

From the service line, Milbank’s Addison Pauli connected on 19 of 21 with nine aces. Avery Schuneman also excelled at the line. She went 26-for-28 with eight aces.

Belle Pauli made 14 kills. Schuneman followed with nine.  Bree Townsend and Kenzie Kooima each added six. Schuneman contributed 18 assists.  B. Pauli notched 16.

For the defense, Jacy Dexter led with 22 digs. Kalli Grong made 16. Schuneman followed with nine. At the net, B. Pauli recorded one solo block and two block assists.  Kooima also added two block assists.

JV Team 
The JV Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Mustangs of Waubay-Summit 2-0.  Set scores were 25-21 and 25-11.

Eighth Grade 
Coach Becky Johnson steered the eight-grade Lady Bulldogs to a 3-0 victory in their match against the Lady Mustangs of Waubay-Summit. Set scores were 25-6, 26-12, 26-24

Alanna Vogel went eight of 10 serving with three aces and one assist. Sophia Bass was six of seven at the service line. She recorded one ace and one kill. Jenna Pederson hit nine of 12 serves. She made eight aces, one assist, and one kill.  

Riley Brown went seven of nine serving with two aces. She also contributed one assist. 

Joselyn Owen was 13 of 15 serving with seven aces. She added one kill. Ana Mckillip made a  kill. Marley Pinkert went zero of two from the line. Sydnee Weyh made six of eight  serves, including  four aces. Alyssa Henderson went one of four in serving. Alondra Romero hit all eight of her serves, including three aces.

Seventh Grade
Jenna Schulte, coach of the seventh-grade girls volleyball team, commented, “We lost the first two games but they were close – the first at 19 to 25 and the second at22 to 25. We played a third game just for fun, and we won 15 to 2.”

Tatum Brehmer went 13 of 14 at the service line with five aces. She made two assists.

Hannah Pauli was 11 t of 15 serving with six aces and two kills. Stella Pulling hit three of four serves and made one ace. Isabel Karels made three out of five serves with two aces. Brielle Grabow went  two out of three serving with two kills. Whitney Weyh made two out of four serves with three assists. Payton  Pauli secured two out of three serves.

Trinity Brehmer made her only serve with an ace.  Brytten Schmieg made one of three serves. She also made an assist. Nadia Howard contributed two kills.
