
The Big Stone Library is hosting its free annual puzzle swap for adults now through March 11. The swap features puzzles with 300, 500, and 1,000 pieces. According to librarian Janelle Kelly the selection is ever-changing as people bring new ones and take home others each week.
The annual Adult Reading Program will continue through February 25. For each library book that is read and returned, the patron’s name is entered in the weekly drawing for prizes. Also, ask for the Book Genre Bingo sheet, complete a Bingo, and receive a prize. A special prize awaits patrons who reach their reading goal by the last day of the program.
The children’s Books and Bingo reading program will continue through Saturday, February 14. The program, designed for kids ages six through 10, runs from 10:30 a.m. until Noon.. Kids enjoy read-aloud stories and independent reading. Bingo games are played with prizes for the winners. A small Valentine’s craft to take home will also be provided. Register your child at bsclibrary12@hotmail.com or stop by the library. The program is Free.
Both book clubs are starting up again after the Christmas break. Group One meets during the day on one Tuesday a month. Group 2 meets one Monday evening a month. The groups select different books. Discussion lasts one hour. Questions are provided. Stop by the library during normal library hours to register or email bsclibrary12@hotmail.com.
Don’t miss the library’s book sale table! It’s loaded with great finds. The books are always changing and more are added throughout the year.
The Big Stone Branch library is located on the south side of the Big Stone City Community Center, at 400 Washington Street. Library hours are Wednesdays Noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
