Keira Steffen Selected as January Student of the Month

Senior Keira Steffen has been chosen as the January Student of the Month at Milbank High School. She is the daughter of Derek and Heidi Steffen.

Keira is a member of the choir, debate, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), oral Interpretation, and Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU). She also serves as the HOSA chapter president, Educator’s Rising chapter secretary, and student council secretary.  As a junior, she represented Milbank at Girls State. Outside of school, Keira  is involved in the youth group at Central Church and Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY).

Keira prefers science classes because she says, “They challenge me with interesting new ideas.” After graduation, she plans to attend the University of South Florida to study medical biology on a pre-med track with the intention of becoming a physician. In preparation, Keira is now working  as a patient tech at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera.
