She was raised on the family farm outside of Rosen, MN, and attended Mount Saint Benedict in Crookston, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1950. After moving to Milbank, SD, she worked at St. Bernard’s Hospital for over 40 years. She married Daniel M. Roggenbuck at St. Lawrence Church on July 9, 1955. She was active in St. Lawrence Parish, the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Catholic Daughters. She served as an Oblate at Blue Cloud Abbey throughout her adult life in Milbank.
Dan retired from working/owning Mobil Oil in 1985, after which he and Milly traveled throughout the U.S. They enjoyed the sites and visiting their children who had all moved to Arizona and Southern California after their school years. They moved to San Diego, CA in 1988, where they managed the La Jolla Women’s Club for five years. They moved to Rancho Bernardo, CA, where they lived through their retirement years and where Dan died in 2011. Milly returned to Milbank in 2023 and resided at Peaceful Pines until the time of her death.
Throughout her life, Milly enjoyed music, playing the organ and piano, and singing in the church choir. She enjoyed a very prayerful life and was always close to God. She enjoyed reading, journaling, fixing puzzles, and spending time with family. She taught her children and grandchildren many card games and even started a card club in California. She was a very curious and sensitive person who enjoyed befriending and bringing new people together during her life.
