Elroy Adermann, 80, of Ortonville, MN, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Clinton, MN, with his family at his side. 

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Pastor Tim Rynearson will officiate. 

Elroy Curtis Adermann was born July 18, 1945, in Gwinner, ND, to Emil and Irene (Moulton) Adermann. He grew up on farms outside Gwinner, ND; Monticello, Clinton, and Madison, MN, where he graduated from Madison High School.

In 1966, Elroy joined Battery B of the Madison Army National Guard and served until being honorably discharged as a Specialist on June 12, 1974. His duty assignments included Cannoneer and Assistant Gunner. Elroy married JoAnn Thielke on August 16, 1975. The couple settled in Ortonville, MN, where they raised their son, Daniel.

Elroy was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years, where he served as an usher and head usher for a period of time. He was a staunch Minnesota Vikings fan and would watch all football games regardless of team affiliation.

He had a variety of job responsibilities throughout his career, including farming, sales at a lumber company, and working in operations at the granite quarry near Odessa, MN. Most of his working life was spent at the former Cashtown Service, where he served as a mechanic, attendant, and fuel oil delivery driver.

Elroy is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Thielke) Adermann; his son, Daniel (Susan) Adermann; and grandson, Austin Adermann, along with several nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, and grand-nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Beverley Vavra and her husband, Joseph; his brother, Wayne (Carmen) Adermann; his sister, Lynn (Bruce) Hegrenes; and many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Emil and Irene.

The family would like to thank all the staff who supported Elroy at Legacy Commons Senior Living Center in Clinton, MN.
