
Mike Paulson, a 2004 graduate of MHS, celebrated his 40th birthday at the Seventh Annual MHS Alumni Basketball Tournament. The fundraiser for the Bulldog Booster Club was held at the Milbank Armory on Saturday, April 4. Paulson was a member of the Maroon Team –made up of graduates from 2000-2009. The Maroon Team took second place.
Paulson is remembered as one of Milbank’s best basketball players. He put up 1096 career points for Milbank – the most in MHS history. On the all-time lists he sits at third in rebounds at 476; sixth in assists at 170; fourth in steals at 124; second in career field goals made at 398; tied for second in career 3-pointers made at 130; fifth for number of free throws made at 170. He is also third in percentage of free throws made. Paulson still holds seventh place for points per game with his average of 13.70.

MHS Head Basketball Coach Logan Diede, who organizes the tournament each year. Said, “We were super happy that Mike chose to spend a portion of his 40th birthday with us at the Alumni Tournament, and it was cool to see his family cheering him on with signs and balloons!”
Paulson and his family live in Watertown where he is the Market President of American Bank & Trust. His parents are Bob and Nancy Paulson of Milbank.
