Grant County Bike Rodeo Provides Helmets for Kids

Over 50 youth attended a Bike Rodeo in Milbank on Thursday, May 21. Members of the Grant County 4-H Office, the Milbank Police Department, the Milbank Area Hospital and Clinic, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Grant-Roberts Ambulance, and the Milbank Fire Department assisted at and sponsored the event.

The bicyclists registered their vehicles with the Milbank Police Department. The Milbank Area Hospital and Clinic provided and fitted the helmets. A bike-riding course was supervised by the local police and the South Dakota Highway Patrol. The Milbank Fire Department, Grant-Roberts Ambulance, Milbank Police Department, and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office displayed various service vehicles and specialized equipment. Participants also enjoyed refreshments.

Milbank Chief of Police Corey Hooth said, “I want to thank all the agencies and staff that helped with this kick-off to summer event.  Have a fun and safe summer!”
