
Lady Bulldog Zora Henrich, a freshman, qualified for the 2026 SDHSAA State Golf Tournament during the regional meet held at Dell Rapids on May 20. Henrich took 18th place by carding 108 at 36 over. The state championships will be held June 1-2 at Two Rivers Golf Club in Dakota Dunes near North Sioux City.
Siena Maxwell of Madison was the medalist at Regions. She finished at nine over par at 81. Grace Seyer of Roncalli was second with 82 strokes. Kenzley Heath of Sisseton was close behind with 83. For Milbank, Macie VanLith and Kylynn Schwandt each carded 151. Willow Bender finished at 153.
As a team. Aberdeen Roncalli, Madison, and Sioux Valley each qualified for the state tournament. Roncalli took first place at 339. Madison finished at 348; Sioux Valley, 401; Sisseton, 409; Groton, 440; Dell Rapids, 453; and Milbank, 563.
Milbank Head Golf Coach Mark Keeton commented, “Finally, we were treated to some sun and very little wind. Rocky Run is a tough course with trouble around every turn and very similar to Whetstone Creek. Unfortunately, as a team we were not at our best, but we are young and definitely gained some much needed experience.” Keeton also congratulated Zora on advancing to State.
NEC Meet

Zora Henrich was the top finisher for Milbank at the Northeast Conference meet at Olive Grove Golf Course in Groton on May 18. Henrich finished 15 over at 51 to take 10th place.

Kylynn Schwandt also received a medal for her 13th-place finish. She shot 54.
Willow Bender took 16th place at 62.

Macie Van Lith finished 18th at 64.
Coach Mark Keeton commented, “The weather was miserable, and the tournament was cut down to nine holes. Once again, we were at a meet where it was all about survival.”
Individually, Grace Seyer of Roncalli took first place at five over at 41. Kenzley Heath of Sisseton claimed second at 43. Claire Crawford, also of Roncalli, came in third when she carded 45.
