Milbank Dives Into Volleyball Season for a Win

After serving behind the scenes as an assistant, Mandy Snaza has stepped into the spotlight to lead the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team as their new head coach. Kelli Pilatzki and Katie Riley are the assistant coaches.

Milbank started their 2026-27 season at home with a 3-1 varsity victory against Sisseton. Set scores were 25-18,  25-19, 14-25, and 25-20

For the Lady Bulldogs, junior Addison Pauli went 26-26 serving. She made five aces. Junior Lorn Harstad was 25 of 15 with two aces. Sophomore Zora Henrich led the way for Milbank with 12 kills. Senior Bailey Koepke had 11. Sophomore Violet Johnson put up 35 assists. 

For the defense, sophomore Avigail Howard recorded 11 digs. Pauli and Harstad each added five. Junior Bree Townsend and Pauli added four blocks apiece. 

For Sisseton,  Saylor Langager claimed two aces on her 21 good serves. and Marisa Lewis had 13 with one ace. Lewis also made 14 assists. Piper Langager and S. Langager each posted seven kills. Chesnie Anderson had 12 digs and Claire Iverson had eight.  P. Langager made three solo blocks.

JV  Team Scores – Milbank took the loss at 2-1. Set scores were 22-25, 25-17, and 7-15.

C Team Scores – Milbank collected the win at 2-1. Set scores were 25-21, 16-25, and 15-9.

What’s next for the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team? Milbank travels to Deuel on Tuesday, September 1. The Lady Cardinals will be coming off two losses – both sweeps – one to Sioux Valley and the other to Webster Area.
