Senior Bulldog Jeter Scoular won the individual championship at The Bank Invitational hosted by Milbank on Saturday, September 12. According to Bulldog head coach Eric Townsend, Jeter set his season-best and nearly his all-time record of 16:21. Lady Bulldog Ella Koplin took fourth place in the varsity girls division.
Altogether, the varsity girls placed four runners in the top 20 to earn Milbank second place out of seven complete teams. The varsity boys placed sixth. The JV girls dominated their race. Milbank runners Kingsley Jensen, Audrey Schmeichel, Ainsley Brown, and Lennox Spors took all four of the top places. Finn Gilmore took fourth place for the JV boys.
“Race day was much cooler than the past couple of weeks, and our times really improved. Many of our times were personal bests,” stated Coach Townsend.”It was nice to be able to run at home with much cooler conditions and against a unique group of teams. We had teams from North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota.
Six seniors –Beckham Berry, Liam Heller, Bennett Graham, Jeter Scoular, Macy Mueller, and Zayda Townsend — and their parents were recognized for their efforts and support of their involvement in cross country. Their leadership has been huge for us the past couple of seasons and will continue to be this season,” Coach Townsend commented.
