Milbank Wobbles Against Strong Webster Teams

The Lady Bulldogs volleyball teams traveled to Webster on Tuesday, September 29. Webster took the wins, but Milbank had some great sets and individual moments.
JV Match – Milbank 0 vs. Webster 2
“The JV girls did a good job serving without errors and also a good job being aggressive,” commented Coach Kelli Pillatzki. The Lady Bearcats, however, took the win 2-0. Set scores were both at 25-17.

Pillatzki said the girls will work on finishing strong in a set. She also noted they will practice communicating every touch.
Eighth-Grade Match – Milbank 1 vs. Webster 2
“Webster had strong serving and some of the best offense we’ve seen this season.,” commented Coach Nancy Hoeke. “It’s good for us to play at that level of competition, so we know what to work on and improve.”
Webster won the first set 25-16, but Milbank flipped the script on them in the second with a 25-16 victory. Webster held on in the third to secure the win at 15-6.

Coach Becky Johnson said, “The girls played very well. We just couldn’t pull off a win.”
Webster claimed the victory in two sets at 25-12 and 25-19.

“We have the tourney at Morris, Minnesota, this Saturday (October 3),” commented Johnson. “Then, we play at Ortonville on Monday and host Deubrook on Tuesday to end the middle school season.”
