Is your child always asking “Why?” Do they dream of helping others or curing the common cold? Are you over cleaning up exploding volcanos? You need a new idea.
Science Saturday takes the mess out of your kitchen and gets your child into a safe and fun environment that makes science come alive. Science Saturday will turn everyday activities into hands-on experiments and connect stuff kids love to problem-solving in the real-world.

Science Saturday is for children in grades 2-6. It will be presented by Milbank HOSA (Future Health Professionals) at the Milbank Area Hospital Avera from 1-3 p.m. this Saturday, October 17. Natalie Gauer, CEO of Milbank Hospital-Avera, welcomes all young students to attend.
“Students will have the opportunity to explore five interactive stations featuring interesting science activities and demonstrations,” commented Susie Wendland.
“One project we will do is where we make lungs out of balloons and blow them up in pumpkins,” said Bri Hicks, president of HOSA at MHS. “We are calling it ‘pulmonary pumpkins’ 🙂 The kids we talked to are really excited about this!”
According to Johanna Fisher, adviser for HOSA at MHS, students can also expect a lot of interesting surprises.
Send your child’s RSVP to Bri Hicks at 605.949.9631. Wendland also says, “Parents can use the QR code to pre-register fast!”
RSVPs for Science Saturday are preferred. Walk-ins are also welcome. Admission is $10. A permission slip must be signed on arrival. Gift bags will be given away.
Help spark a lifelong love for science in your child and maybe even build a path toward a career in science or healthcare.
