Twyla Jewell

Twyla Jewell, 67, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Watertown, SD.

Services for Twyla will be private for family and friends, per her wishes. 

Twyla Marjorie Jewell was born on June 24, 1959, in Milbank, SD, to Eugene and Irene (Thomas) Konshak. She attended Milbank School and later began working at a nursing home, where she spent time caring for others.

In the early 1980s, Twyla moved to Watertown, SD. On October 22, 1983, she was united in marriage to Randy Jewell. The couple later separated. Twyla became a well-known and well-loved bartender throughout the Watertown community. Over the years, she tended bar at the Harbor Bar, Foxy’s, the Guest House, and others, where she grew into being a familiar face to many. When her children were young, she also worked for a short time at Midcom. In addition, Twyla babysat for families over the years, always finding ways to stay busy and help those around her. Above all, Twyla cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was strong, independent and loved her family fiercely. When she wasn’t with her grandkids, she enjoyed working on word puzzles, watching movies, and relaxing at home with her beloved cat, “BB”.

Twyla is survived by her children: Andrew Jewell of Watertown, SD; Amber Jewell of Watertown, SD; and Adam (Jenna) Jewell of Watertown, SD; her beloved grandchildren: Kade, Emy, Vaughan, Draven, Adrienne, and Ameila; and one great-granddaughter, Opal; her mother, Irene Konshak of Milbank, SD; siblings: Gail (Dennis) Adelman of Milbank, SD; Joe (Sandy) Konshak of Brookings, SD: Tony (Kerri) Konshak of Harrisburg, SD; and Holly (Ben) Trevathan of Summit, SD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene; and her brother, Michael Konshak.
