veterans_day-1South Dakota Veterans Affairs deputy secretary Aaron Pollard has been selected as the keynote speaker at the annual Veterans Day program Friday, November 11, at 11 a.m. at the Milbank Armory.

The VFW Post #3486 commander Preston Fischer will serve as the emcee for the program. Emanuel Lutheran Church pastor Bill Cornelius will provide the Invocation. The Milbank High School band will present several selections as well as the high school choir. Taps will be played by MHS students Mackayla Schuelke and Trevor Schmidt.

Citizens of the community are called together to honor all veterans. Several units will participate in the ceremony. Those represented include VFW Post #3486 color guard and firing squad, VFW Auxiliary color guard, American Legion Post #9 color guard, Legion Auxiliary president and color guard, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 and the 740th Transportation Company.
