Laurel Beumer

Laurel Jean (Belatti) Beumer age 64, of rural Browns Valley, MN, peacefully walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 28, 2020. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 1 at 10:30 at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, SD, with a lunch following at the visitor center. Burial will be held at a later date at the Beumer Family Cemetery in Roberts County, SD. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Mundwiler Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren: Chris and Karli Beumer, Elijah, Andrew, Palesa and Piper Hanson.

Laurel was born and raised in Watertown, South Dakota. She received a nursing degree through Lake Area Technical Institute. She married the love of her life, Terry, on August 20, 1977. She worked in multiple positions around the Browns Valley Area, but soon realized that being a devoted wife and mother was her true calling. She became a beautiful and selfless mother to two children. She poured her life out in dedication to her children’s happiness and helping her husband on the family farm. Her soft heart, silly sense of humor, and infectiously gentle soul was the essence of who she was and revealed the true joy in her heart – Jesus. Laurel had been proud to take on the additional role as grandmother to six grandchildren and one angel baby, who we know she is now cuddling.

Laurel was the perfect example of the Bible verse, “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:29, ESV

Left to cherish and honor Laurel’s memory are her husband, Terry Beumer of Browns Valley, MN; her children: Michael (Rachel) Beumer of Browns Valley, MN; and Jennifer (Grant) Hanson of Mankato MN; six grandchildren: Chris and Karli Beumer of Browns Valley, MN and Elijah, Andrew, Palesa and Piper Hanson of Mankato MN; father-in-law, Bob Beumer of Browns Valley, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law: Randy and Judy Beumer of Browns Valley, MN; Scott and Jill Beumer of San Antonio, TX; and Tom Wolf of Watertown, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Belatti; and mother, Molly Belatti, both of Watertown, SD; sister, Linda Wolf of Watertown, SD; mother-in-law, Doris Beumer of Browns Valley, MN; and granddaughter, Savannah Beumer, of Browns Valley, MN.
