Cooper Allen O’Bray, age 33 days, passed away in his parent’s arms at home in Herington, Kansas, on May 18, 2022. He lived his life with full trisomy 18 and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Cooper passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at 10:41 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Elim Evangelical Covenant Church in Stockholm, SD. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church in Stockholm. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Stockholm, with a lunch reception to follow at the church. All friends and family are welcome to Cooper’s celebration of life.

Cooper was born April 15, 2022, on Good Friday, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO, and weighed 3 lbs.11 oz., and was 15 inches long. Cooper is the son of Rachel (Thompson) Amiot and Matthew O’Bray of Herington, KS. During his brief visit on earth, he enjoyed listening to music, rocking and being held close by mommy and daddy, mommy singing and reading stories every morning, and having his soft feet rubbed by his daddy. He really enjoyed his droplets of milk as he did get a feeding tube at 4 days old. He always gave kissy lips as he sucked in his milk.

Cooper’s family would like to say thank you to all who supported, prayed, and loved Cooper throughout his wonderful and glorious 33 days of life. He will always be our little Mighty Mouse and forever our sunshine.

Cooper is survived by his mom and dad; brothers: Preston of Sioux Falls, SD; Parker, Presley, Chase, and Grayson of Herington KS; sister, Emma of Herington, KS; maternal grandparents: Allen and Myra (Heuer) Thompson of Stockholm, SD; paternal grandparents: Leroy and Cindy (Morgan) O’Bray of Hope, KS; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cooper was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: John “Jackie” and Theodora Thompson; Erwin and Rose Heuer; Alfred and Theresa Morgan; Florence Sanders, and Gerald O’Bray.
