87 MHS Vocalists Perform in Choir Contest

Vocalists from the Milbank High School Choir performed for an adjudicator during the 2024 Region III Solo and Ensemble Music Contest. Solo performances were based on tone, intonation, accuracy, interpretation, vocal technique, and performance factors such as literature choice and professional conduct. Ensemble groups were also critiqued on their ability to balance and blend.

Students who performed with their music received comments but officially were not given a rating. Of the 87 vocalists from Milbank who performed, two received Superior Plus Ratings (I+), 25 received Superior (I), 13 received Excellent (II) and two received Good (III) ratings. Two soloists participated for comments only.

Mrs. Miriam Schwenn serves as the director of the MHS choirs. Mrs. Kristi Seehafer and Mrs. Deb Rausch helped the voice students prepare and offered musical assistance.
