Lady Bulldogs Trample Waubay- Summit in Hoops

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Waubay-Summit 67-36 on Tuesday, January 21, at the Milbank Armory. Waubay-Summit was riding high after a victory over Ortonville three days earlier, but Milbank had no trouble rolling over them and adding a “W” to their winning streak. That winning streak now sits at five, but the Lady Dawgs will need to be at the top of their game when Groton comes to town on Thursday, January 23.

In their game against Waubay-Summit Tyra Berry led the way. She scored 16 points and hauled in four rebounds. Isabella Anderson followed with 13 points and eight rebounds.Belle Pauli and Anna Neugebauer each scored nine points. Pauli racked up 11 rebounds and Neugebauer had three. Claire Snaza made eight points and six rebounds. Avery Schuneman added six points. Siera Wenzl and Josie Riveland each put up three points. Riveland grabbed four rebounds and Wenzl secured three.

Faith Larson was the leading scorer for the Lady Mustangs. She dropped in 10 and contributed six rebounds. Liza Purdy made nine points. Kayce Burger corralled three rebounds for the Mustangs.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 42 percent from the floor, including 31 percent from beyond the arc. Milbank downed seven of nine free throws for 78 percent. Waubay-Summit hit 40 percent of their shots overall, including nearly 39 percent from long range. They made three of seven shots from the line for 43 percent.
