Anieta Meyer, age 90, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, SD. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Pastor Chris Davis will officiate, and interment will be at Milbank City Cemetery.

Anieta Ardis (Gast) Meyer was born on January 30, 1935, in Richland County, ND, to George and Christine (Daman) Gast. She attended school in Fairmount, ND, where she graduated high school with the Class of 1953.

On August 23, 1957, Anieta was united in marriage with Charles P. Meyer at a small country church near Tyler, ND. Together, they were blessed with four children.

Following her high school education, Anieta pursued a career as an operator for Bell Telephone Company. She later embraced her role as a homemaker, raising her children and keeping a lovely home. Anieta then continued to contribute to the workforce at Milbank Mutual/Royal Insurance Companies until her retirement in 1996.

An active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank, Anieta found joy and purpose in her faith. Her dedication to the church community was evident in her countless contributions. Anieta cherished the friendships she formed, often gathering with friends at the Milbank VFW for the card drawing. She also had love for crocheting and created many beautiful works. Anieta enjoyed watching football, especially the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chiefs. She also liked to watch golf and NASCAR when she had the opportunity.

Left to cherish Anieta’s memory are her sons: Scott (Cheryl) Meyer of Milbank, SD; Steve Meyer of Milbank, SD; and Kyle (Kathy) Meyer of Huron, SD; seven grandchildren: Casey Meyer, Randy McKernan, Amberley Baird, Charlee Meyer, Hailey Meyer, Logan Meyer, and Blake Meyer; nine great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles in 2020; daughter, Annette Faye Meyer (in infancy); her parents; sisters: Norma (Ed) Holman, Donna (Bud) Thiele, and Betty (ElRoy) Palmer; and daughter-in-law, Mary Meyer.
