DeBoer Takes Sixth at Madison Invitational

The Bulldogs traveled to the Madison Invitational on August 21. Jonathan DeBoer brought home sixth place for Milbank. He shot a 79. Finn Anderson of Aberdeen Roncalli was the medalist at 75 – just four over par. Harper Schnabel, also from Roncalli, carded 76 for second place. Schnabel, a sophomore who played for Sioux Falls Christian last year, moved back to Aberdeen and rejoined the Cavaliers team. Trey Boyd and Gabe Schock, both from Sioux Falls Christian, each carded 77 for third and fourth place, respectively. Chase McQuirk from Chamberlain took fifth. He and Landon Weber of Parkston each carded 79 along with DeBoer. Weber took home seventh place.

Milbank golfers were not all at the top of the leaderboard, but they all finished as did the team. Nearly 20 players and four teams withdrew or did not finish. Thomas Bass came in 79th for the Bulldogs at 113. Seth Van Hoorn was 85th at 117. Jeryn Bormann was 93rd at 128. Jesus Padilla was 96th at 140, and Pierce Mathiason was 98th at 145.

Roncalli won the tournament at 317. Sioux Falls Christian came in second at 319. West Central was third at 341. Milbank collected  5th at 437.

What’s next? The Bulldogs were back on the greens today, in Aberdeen for the Hub City Invitational.
