The MHS 2025 Homecoming festivities will start with Coronation on Sunday, September 21, at 7 p.m. in the National Guard Armory.  Admission is $2 per person for grades 1-12 and adults. Activity passes will not be accepted. 

Queen Candidates: Ashlynn Batchelor, daughter of Chris and Laurie Batchelor; Jacy Dexter, daughter of Brandon and Hilary Dexter; Olivia Foell, daughter of Matt and Heather Foell; Kalli Grong, daughter of Evan and Angie Grong; Kenzie Kooima, daughter of Reid and Shelly Wildung and Darin and Megan Kooima; and Anna Neugebauer, daughter of Justin and Pam Neugebauer. 

King Candidates: Esteban Abrego Gonzalez, son of Victor Abrego and Ruth Gonzalez; Braylen Bowsher, son of Thom and Deb Bowsher; Jack Howard, son of Tony and Dani Howard; Carter Liebe, son of Jason and Kristy Liebe; Layten Osowski, son of Jason and Jennifer Osowski; and Garrett Weber, son of Keith and Angie Weber.

The Coronation program will include the introduction of the Class of 2026 royalty, a skit performed by MHS Student Council, and the crowning of the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen.

The 2025 theme is Bulldogs Hit the Big Screen: A Homecoming Adventure. Each class has chosen an adventure movie or series.:

Businesses and the public are also encouraged to choose an adventure movie or series for Homecoming activities, including parade entries. Popular choices include Jurassic Park, The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Jungle Cruise, Star Wars, etc.

Homecoming buttons are $2 each. The buttons were sold at Milbank Elementary School and St. Lawrence School using a pre-order sheet that was to be returned to the school by Wednesday, September 17.  Middle school students can purchase a button Monday through Wednesday, September 22 – 24, from 7:45 a.m. – 8:10 a.m. outside the Milbank Middle School office. High School students can purchase a button from any MHS Student Council member throughout the week while supplies last.

Bulldogs Fighting Cancer will sell Bulldog Beads.  Order forms were sent home with Milbank Elementary students and St. Lawrence students with a deadline of Wednesday, September 10.  Milbank Middle School and high school students can buy beads by Officer Folk’s office Monday through Wednesday, September 22 – 24, from 7:45 a.m. until 8:10 a.m. Depending on the type of beads purchased, prices range from $2 to $10.

Dress-Up Days 
Monday – Teachers Dress as Students and Students Dress as Teachers   Tuesday – Anything But a Backpack and Class Colors (Seniors: Black; Juniors: Blue; Sophomores: Pink; Freshmen: Green) –  Wednesday – BBQ Dads vs. Soccer Moms; Thursday – Construction Workers  and Friday – Maroon and Gold Day.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 26. Parade line-up is on Flynn Drive west of the High School. The parade route  begins at the corner of Flynn Drive and 7th Avenue.. It heads west in front of the high school and continues to S. 5th Street, where it turns and goes north. The parade continues on S. 5th Street to E. 5th Avenue, where it turns and goes west. On Main Street, the parade turns to go north and finishes at the corner of Main Street and E. Railway Avenue by the Milbank Mall and Bat Mobile Wireless.  Questions about the parade? Bulldogs Fighting Cancer will host the tailgate prior to the game. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and runs until  6 p.m. Pulled pork sandwiches, chips, bars and cookies, and a drink will be sold for $5.  

The Milbank Bulldogs take on the Tanagers of Vermillion in the Homecoming football game on Friday, September 26.  Kickoff is 6 p.m. at  AB Campbell Stadium.

Following the football game, the MHS Student Council will host an adventure movie for all high school students. Weather permitting, the movie event will be held at A.B. Campbell Stadium.

Extracurricular activities scheduled for Homecoming week: Monday – JH Boys Golf at Groton and JV Football at Dell Rapids   Tuesday – Varsity Boys Golf at Watertown, JV/V Girls Tennis at Home, 7/8 Football vs. Dell Rapids at Home, and C/JV/V Volleyball vs. Sioux Valley at Home Thursday – V Boys Golf at Sisseton and C/JV/V Volleyball vs. Redfield at Home   Friday – V Football at Home vs. Vermillion  Saturday – V Volleyball at Great Plains Lutheran and Cross Country at the Grand Forks Border Battle.
