The blood drive held in Milbank on April 27 collected 35 units of blood. “Enough to help save up to 105 patients in need,” said Abbie Arneson of LifeServe, the nonprofit blood supplier that organized the drive. Joyce Hermans was recognized by LifeServe as a 7-gallon donor. “This is a remarkable commitment to helping others through regular blood donation,” commented Arneson.

A total of 38 donors registered for the drive and 35 successfully donated. Five people  gave blood for the first time: Tyler Buttke, Mykayla Buttke, Samantha Darnallwerlinger, Patrick Dreis, and Lillian Dreis.

“The success of the drive was made possible through the leadership of coordinator Susan Sime, along with Melissa Mueller and Rochelle Reede, who assisted with the coordination and set-up at the 4-H Building.” Arneson stated.
