
The 31st Annual Bishop’s Fishing Tournament was held on Big Stone Lake on June 1. The family-friendly bass and walleye tournament also featured an outdoor Mass celebrated by Bishop DeGrood and attending clergy, a silent auction, youth games and activities, a raffle, music, a kids dessert contest, and an outdoor prime rib dinner.

A Bishop’s Tournament is also held annually on the Missouri River near Pierre. This year it was June 8. Both events help to fund seminary education for three to four men who plan to enter the priesthood for the Diocese of Sioux Falls.
