Robert “Bobby” McMahon, Jr., age 65, of Ortonville, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert William McMahon, Jr. was born on October 16, 1960, in Sioux City, IA, to Robert and Sandra (Jahn) McMahon. As the eldest of eight children, he took great pride in his family and the bonds he shared with his brothers and sisters.

Bobby attended and graduated from high school in Ortonville, MN, where he was active in both football and baseball. An exceptional athlete, he excelled on the baseball field and was offered an opportunity to play for the Minnesota Twins.

After high school, Bobby moved to Alaska, where he worked on the pipelines, later relocating to Washington State and building a successful career in carpentry. Known for his remarkable craftsmanship and strong work ethic, Bobby took great pride in every project he completed. His work reflected the dedication, skill, and attention to detail that defined his character.

Later in life, Bobby married Karen. Although their marriage subsequentially ended, they shared a chapter of life together that remained a meaningful part of his journey. Bobby never had children of his own, but he deeply loved his siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was a proud brother and uncle who cherished family and enjoyed spending time with those he loved.

An avid outdoorsman, Bobby found peace and happiness in hunting and fishing. In his later years, fishing became one of his greatest passions. Family and friends often joked that if no one else could catch a fish, they could always count on Bobby. Whether on the water, in the woods, or surrounded by loved ones, he found joy in life’s simple moments and created memories that will be treasured for years to come.

After courageously battling heart and breathing complications in the final months of his life, Bobby passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2026. Though his health declined, his strength, love for his family, and enduring spirit remained evident until the very end.

Bobby is survived by his loving siblings: Debra (Denny) Braun, Teresa (Larry) Snyder, Jeff McMahon, Tim McMahon, and Heather (Bobby) Jobe. He also leaves behind his cherished nephews: Cody, Hunter, Jake, Joey, Kyle, Trey, and Jason; his beloved nieces: Hannah, Jenna, Chelsea, Mallory, Alexis, Bailey, and Ashley; and his beloved cat. Bobby’s legacy of love and family extends to several great-nephews and great-nieces, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Bobby was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Robert and Sandra McMahon; his brother, Pat; his sister, Missy; and many beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family members who had gone before him.

Bobby’s family takes comfort in knowing he has been reunited with those he loved and missed so dearly.
