During a special meeting of the Milbank City Council on Monday, July 27, former council member Mike Hanson was appointed as the new mayor of Milbank. Hanson replaced Mindy Rogers, who had been serving as the mayor pro temporare after the mayoral seat was vacated by longtime mayor Pat Raffety in May. Hanson’s term will continue until June 2027 when a special election will be conducted to elect a mayor.
