Top float winners were: Al’s Body Shop, business category; The City of Milbank, public category; and the senior boys from Milbank High School, teen category. Each group won a gift basket valued at $200. The City of Milbank passed their winnings on to the second place winner in the public category – the Mueller family.

“With this being the first festival, we didn’t know what to expect,” stated Events Director Laura Kelly of the Milbank Area Chamber. “We had a great turnout for all the events and plan to continue this next year.”

Long lines of people waited to enjoy sleigh rides in the late afternoon before the streets were lined with the young and old to take in the sights during the lighted parade.

The activities continued at the Speedway Event Center where the fun, food and activities continued. A packed house was treated to cookie and ornament decorating, a holiday photo booth, photos with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their two Elves and Turkey Bingo.

Judges also awarded prizes for the top three businesses participating in the Storefront Window Contest. Earning the top honor was Whelan Chiropractic. They receive a free bowling party. Second place went to The Valley Shopper and The Grant County Review took third. The second place winner receives a pizza party and third place receives two dozen caramel rolls and juice from Trevett’s Cafe.
