GC courthouseThe deadline for filing nominating petitions for the upcoming primary election has been set for Tuesday, March 29, at 5 p.m. according to Grant County Auditor Karen Layher.
The following petitions for offices of Grant County must be filed in the office of the county auditor located in the Grant County Courthouse. They include:
County Commissioner District 2 – 4 year term
County Commissioner District 4 – 4 year term
County States Attorney – 4 year term
County Treasurer – 4 year term
County Coroner – 4 year term
Delegates to Republican State Party Convention – 3 delegates
Precinct Committeeman Republican Party – 2 year term
Precinct Committeewoman Republican Party – 2 year term
Nominating petition for the following offices must be filed by the deadline to the office of the Secretary of State, State Capitol Building, Pierre, SD 57501, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
U.S. Senator – 6 year term
U.S. Representative – 2 year term
State Senator District 4 – 2 year term
(2) State Representatives District 4 – 2 year term
If a petition is mailed by registered mail by March 29, 2016, at 5 p.m., it shall be considered filed.
