The Milbank Bulldogs are on the prowl for a Homecoming victory this Friday, September 29. They host the Groton Area Tigers.

The Dawgs hold a 3-2 record with their two losses at the hands of the top undefeated teams in Class 11A – Madison and Dakota Valley. Milbank lost several key players this season. Seniors Jonny Ash, Ethan Paysen, and Derrick Aho have been sidelined with season-ending injuries. “It’s unfortunate, but the next guy has stepped in and the team keeps battling,” stated Bulldog Head Coach Jeremy Tostenson.

Groton Area comes to town with a 4-2 record. The Tigers are leading their region in Class 11B. They suffered losses to Aberdeen Roncalli and Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm, North Dakota. They defeated Sisseton, Beresford, Chamberlain, and Mobridge-Pollock.

According to Tostenson, the Tigers’ offense contains some lethal weapons. Runningback Seric Shabazz and quarterback Marshall Lane are two players to keep in check. “We need to continue to win the turnover battle and have solid blocking and tackling each and every outing,” says Tostenson.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. at AB Campbell Stadium. Keep up with The Valley Express Sports on Twitter and Facebook for live coverage of the 2017 Homecoming game.
