Milbank Fire and Rescue recently elected officers during their annual meeting in April at the Milbank Fire Hall. Kevin Schuelke remains the Fire Chief. Assistant Fire Chiefs are Justin Mathiason and Dave Giesen. Six truck captains were also selected: Craig DeBoer, Brian Homan, Jason Krause, Kyle Schwandt, Steve Spors, and Dean Wellnitz. Mike Hanson will serve as the department secretary and Travis Whitesitt as the treasurer.
“I would like to thank Chad Wientjes and Evan Grong who are leaving the department,” stated Fire Chief Schuelke. Wientjes spent 22 years on the department, 5 of which he served as assistant chief. Grong spent 5 years on the department, serving as treasurer for four years. “We thank them greatly for their service,” noted Schuelke.
