The MHS oral interp team competed Tuesday, November 19 at the Region 4A Oral Interp Contest at Northern State University. Individuals and groups vied for a spot at the state meet to be held in Yankton on December 6-7.
Milbank members who qualified for state included: Landon Brown, first place in storytelling; Hailey Hupke, second place in humor; and Landon Brown and Peyten Wiese, second place in the duet division. According to Natasha Karels, head oral interp coach for the Bulldogs, Mackenzie Michels in poetry; Jackson McFaden in non-original oratory; and Yami Arano, Wiese, Hupke, and Brown in reader’s theater missed qualifying for state by one place and retain alternate status.
