Several hundred people crowded into the Milbank Armory on Sunday, May 17, to see 71 members of the Class of 2015 say good bye to their alma mater and hello to the future.  The 121st class to graduate from MHS was ushered in to the tune of “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the MHS band, under the direction of Susan Karels.  Superintendent Tim Graf presided over the commencement ceremony and Principal Dan Snaza presented the students for their diplomas. Graduates were greeted on stage by School Board President Dick Schwandt and Vice President Gwen Biersbach. All four are alumni of Milbank High School.

Kayla Holtquist and Ryan Schreurs were chosen by the graduates to address their fellow classmates and guests. Both speeches hearkened to the possibilities that lie in the future and reflected on the Class of 2015’s journey.  These themes were echoed in the musical selection from “Riverdance”, “Home and Heartland”, performed by the MHS Choir under the direction of Miriam Schwenn.

The white carnation was selected as the class flower and a single stem was displayed on stage in remembrance of Kirstin Wiseman.
