The Milbank Area Bulldogs are pumped up for Friday night’s game. They plan to defeat the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers and extend its winning streak. Over the years, the two teams have battled with the Bulldogs coming up short. Milbank Area is ready to change that Friday night.

Roncalli holds a 1-1 record heading into the contest. The Cavaliers cruised to a 30-0 win over Redfield-Doland in its opening game of the season before falling 31-12 to St. Thomas More last week. According to Bulldog head football coach Jeremy Tostenson, Roncalli quarterback, Braden Sommers, is a shifty player who makes a lot of plays with his feet. Cavalier running back, Conner Fiedler, is also a force for the opponents. According to inside sources, both players are dinged up with slight injuries but are projected to play against the Bulldogs.

Tostenson feels there are three major goals that will help his team come away with a win. “The key defensively is to get off the field on third down,” he explained. “We need to be able to control the line of scrimmage and win the turnover battle.”

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at Clark Swisher Field. Aberdeen Central plays Rapid City Stevens prior to the Milbank Area/Roncalli game at 5 p.m.
