BoydIn the early hours Friday, January 15, around 1 a.m., the Milbank Police Department responded to a stolen vehicle call in downtown Milbank. It was reported that a black 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by local resident Dustin Fahleen had been taken from the parking lot behind the Pump Bar.

At approximately 3 a.m. that same morning, the department received another report that a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle had crashed about one mile west of Big Stone City. The Milbank PD along with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call on Highway 12.

Upon investigation, the crashed vehicle was identified as the same vehicle that was reported stolen. “It appeared, based on tire tracks, and footprints, the driver was picked up on Highway 12 by another vehicle,” stated Chief VanVooren. “Whomever stopped to render aid to this crash victim is asked to call the Milbank Police Department immediately.”

The incident is still being investigated. Anyone having information is asked to call the Milbank PD at 605-432-5650.
