Minnesota Twins Caravan Hits It Out Of The Park in Ortonville
Local News January 21, 2016 Staff Writer 0
A large crowd cheered for the Minnesota Twins today at the Ortonville School, one stop on the 2016 Twins Caravan.
Current pichers Trevor May and Tyler Duffey were onboard along with Twins legend Tony Oliva. May has brought high hopes to the Twins bullpen and is expected to do the same in the 2016 season. He is from Kelso, WA, and he explained to the students his favorite pas-time is reading. Duffey, a right hander, was drafted by the Twins in the fifth round in 2012. When he is not practicing baseball, he enjoys golfing.
Oliva, an eight-time Major League Baseball all-star right fielder, spent his entire 15-year career with the Twins from 1962 to 1976. The team retired his #6 jersey in July of 1991. He addressed the crowd and stressed the importance of school and learning all you can in life.
