MHS Student Council Gives Donation To New Hospital

The Milbank High School student council presented a $250 check to Jim Gesswein, chairman of Avera Milbank Area Hospital board. The council raised money throughout the year during different fundraisers in an effort to give back to the community. Along with donating to the hospital building fund, the council donated to Combined Appeal last fall and will be making a contribution to the Milbank Education Endowment Fund.

The council’s main project is the Children’s Miracle Network. They sold 50/50 tickets at boys and girls basketball games this year, and will present a $1,500 check to Sanford’s Children’s Hospital at the state student council convention this April in Sioux Falls.

Student council members are: Mikayla Street, Brianna Schreurs, Hannah Rick, Courtney Lusk, Chris Loutsch, Morgan Schmitt, Shauna Pauli, Tanner Gauer, Albert Pavlinac, Molly Rick, Sophia Seffrood, Elisabeth Schwenn, and Jake Sandvig. Student council advisors are Nancy Paulson and Kathy Sussex.
