The Milbank School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Gretchen Koopmans as the high school language arts teacher during its regular meeting Monday, June 12. “We are excited to bring Gretchen to the Milbank School District,” stated Superintendent Tim Graf.
Koopmans was an English teacher and debate coach at Watertown High School for eight years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and education from South Dakota State University and also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Olaf College. She spent one year as a teacher’s aid to learning disabled kindergarteners in Baltimore, Maryland, and was a library aid in Northfield, MN.
