Things are happening for Titan Machinery in Milbank. The local company has signed a 12-month lease with J&J Earthworks.

Titan General Manager, Justin Berry, stated J&J Earthworks will begin building a service facility at their location and will lease the building to Titan Machinery. “This will be great because it is just a short block away from our current location on Highway 15.”

Berry projects Titan will move into the new building by October 15. “Our parts department and service work will be done in the new building. It gives us the ability to provide quick turn around and perform high demand service work during the harvest and winter season.”

Titan will also move their mobile trailer to the J&J location and will continue their office operations out of the trailer. The big equipment will stay on the Titan Machinery lot. The company-owned warehouse will continue to store parts.

“This is an indefinite lease,” Berry explained. “For now it is a 12-month lease, but could be extended. Insurance issues are still being worked out, so for now, this is the plan for Titan. We thank everyone in the community and surrounding area for the continued support. We especially are thankful to our dedicated employees who have stayed with us since the day of the fire. It has been challenging, but we are doing our best and appreciate everyone’s hard work.”

Titan Machinery was destroyed by fire on May 4. Berry stated the cause of the fire came from a light fixture in the southeast corner of the service building in the wash bay. “There was a vertical fluorescent light in the area and a membrane in the light was allowing moisture to build up. This caused an electrical spark and the light fixture started on fire.”
