Schulte is a 1989 Milbank High School graduate and the daughter of Mrytle Lundin and the late John Lundin. She and her husband, MHS alumnus David Schulte, have three children – Isaac in seventh grade and Joe and Rachel in fifth grade. “David and I both recently lost our fathers, so we are happy to move back home close to our mothers and family,” she said.

Schulte obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota. After moving to Ohio, she pursued her Master’s degree and earned double degrees in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from Ohio State University in Columbus.

She spent seven years teaching band and orchestra in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and many years teaching young musicians with the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra. She also gave private violin lessons during the 16 years the family lived in Ohio.

Despite the whirlwind of relocating, purchasing a new home, and selling their home in Ohio, Schulte said she looks forward to being the new music teacher and has hopes of starting a children’s choir and teaching additional instruments. She added, ”This position combines my three passions – my love for Jesus, kids, and music.”
