MILBANK, S.D. – A 45-year-old male died early Saturday morning after being injured in a one-vehicle crash four miles north of Milbank.

The name of the person involved is not being released pending notification of family members. He was the only person involved in the crash.

A 2011 Chevy Silverado K25000 pickup was northbound on 480 Avenue when the driver lost control. The vehicle went into the east ditch, hit an approach, went airborne and then rolled multiple times after hitting the ground.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the pickup. He later died from his injuries at the Milbank hospital.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.  Other agencies on scene were the Grant/Roberts Ambulance, Milbank Fire and Rescue, Milbank Police Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Office

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
