_dsc0002-8The Milbank Area Bulldogs will travel to Volga Friday night to take on the Sioux Valley Cossacks in an I-29 Conference football matchup. The Dawgs hold a 3-1 record and Sioux Valley sits at 2-1.

The Cossacks started their season with a 20-8 win over Sisseton. They then slipped past Elk Point-Jefferson 53-40 before falling to Sioux Falls Christian 26-13. Bulldog head coach Jeremy Tostenson says Sioux Valley’s strength is their offensive line. “They have a very good unit. Our linebackers and defensive linemen will have to play physical.”

Milbank Area will look to improve its game by making more plays than in last week’s game with Groton. “Defensively, our run fits need to be perfect. We cannot give up any big pass plays. Offensively, we cannot turn the ball over.” Sources indicate Sioux Valley is suffering from several injuries, but it is unknown which players are affected.

Keep up with The Valley Express for live action updates throughout the game and post- game results.
