_dsc0042The Milbank Area Bulldogs are looking for a big win Friday night which will send them to the Class 11A playoffs in a few short weeks. The Dawgs will travel to Dell Rapids to take on the Quarriers Friday, October 7, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

Milbank Area sits fifth in Class 11A with a 5-1 record. Dell Rapids is just a half a point behind in power points with a 4-2 record, therefore, a win Friday night will help the Bulldogs playoff cause tremendously. “It’s simple – we win, we are in the playoffs,” stated Bulldog head coach Jeremy Tostenson.

Dell Rapids’ two losses were to top-rated Madison and number two-rated, Tea Area. The Quarriers returned most of the team from last year, and Milbank Area needs to contain their quarterback, senior Hunter Hansen. “He is good at play throwing and running,” Tostenson said.

“Offensively we cannot have any bad plays,” Tostenson noted when asked what the Bulldogs were going to have to do to get a win. “Defensively, we need to be disciplined with our reads and our fits.”
