The Milbank High School oral interp season got underway last week with the local students performing well in their first two events.
Caitlin Kroemer earned a superior plus in both Serious Readings and Storytelling at the Florence Invitational Saturday, October 1. She was the lone member to participate in that event.
Milbank hosted its own meet Monday, October 3, with nearly 200 students and 14 schools participating. In Storytelling, Kroemer earned a superior, and Devon Balling earned an excellent plus. Kroemer also earned a superior plus in Serious Readings.
In the Poetry competition, Allison Grear and Taylor Balling both earned a superior. Korinne Roggenbuck secured a rating of excellent plus in Humorous Readings. In non-original oratory, Kimberlly Aburto earned an excellent plus and Nathan Loutsch was awarded a superior.
Rounding out the local team were Taylor Balling, Devon Balling, Grear and Roggenbuck who teamed up together for the Readers’ Theatre presentation of Texts From Jane Eyre. The group was awarded a superior for their efforts.
Milbank will travel to Sioux Falls Saturday, October 8, for the Rough Rider Roundup at Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School.
