national_guard_awards_bohn_robinsonSpc. Brianna Bohn and Sgt. Michael Robinson were named Soldier and NCO of the Year, respectively, for the South Dakota Army National Guard’s 740th Transportation Company of Milbank during a ceremony October 2. Both are motor transport operators in the 740th.

“It was an honor to compete for this award,” said Bohn, a biology and pre-dentistry student at South Dakota State University. “I’m thankful for the opportunity and appreciate the support I have received from my fellow soldiers as well as my family.”

“I am grateful to be representing all of the 740th Transportation Company NCOs at the battalion level and hopefully the state and national level,” said Robinson, a maintenance electrician at Bel Brands USA in Brookings.

Soldiers were quizzed by a panel of senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) on a variety of Army knowledge topics such as weapons, drill and ceremony, current events, and personal strengths and weaknesses. Bohn and Robinson will move on to compete at the battalion level.
