Milbank Area will host Madison Thursday, October 20, in the Battle of the Bulldogs. The matchup is the last regular season game and will honor the senior players, senior cheerleaders, and their parents prior to kickoff.
Milbank Area holds a 6-2 record. They suffered two losses to Groton Area and Dell Rapids. Madison is 7-1 with their only loss to undefeated and top-rated Tea Area.
According to head coach Jeremy Tostenson, Madison has a solid running game. “Defensively, we need to be physical in our run fits and cannot give up the big plays,” he stated. “Offensively, we need to execute and keep control of the ball by limiting turnovers.”
Both teams have secured a berth to the first round of playoff action. The top eight teams in Class 11A will be seeded and the first round pairings solidified once all regular season games are completed.
Thursday’s kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with senior introductions completed at 6:45 p.m. All parents of senior football players and cheerleaders will need to organize on the track at 6:35 p.m.
