img_1208Musicians from Milbank High School took part in the first annual Northern State University Clarinet Clinic on October 12. The clinic was presented in the newly renovated Johnson Fine Arts Center on the campus of NSU in Aberdeen.

Milbank students participating in the event were Abby Michels and Kylie Roggenbuck, both sophomores, and freshman Alaina Rausch. The students were accompanied by Deb Rausch.

“The students participated in a clarinet choir, master classes, and lectures,” explained MHS band director Susan Karels. “They also performed in the finale concert.”

Instructors for the event included: Dr. Robert Spring, Arizona State University; Dr. Audrey Miller, Northern State University; Shenwen Wu, NSU alumni from China, and Dr. Alan LaFave, NSU Provost.
