_dsc0109Seventeen fifth-graders from St. Lawrence School graduated from the D.A.R.E. program. A ceremony was held Friday, December 9, in the school gymnasium.

Those completing the program included: James Batchelor, Lilly Dreis, Nicholas Fonder, Aubrey Fraasch, Jordan Helgeson, Jayden Johnson, Maggie Kruger, Ivy Lewno, Garrett Mertens, Victoria Nelson, Landon Novy, Abigail Pillatzki, Cassidy Schell, Jacynda Street, Mia Van Lith, Olivia Wendland, and Stella Wendland. Each student was given the opportunity to read their drug-free pledge.

Milbank Police Chief Boyd VanVooren was the instructor of the program which strives to teach students good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives. The program teaches the students about drugs, alcohol, and tobacco and expands on topics such as community and internet safety and bullying.
