Volunteers and staff of Milbank Area Valley Hospice began their annual Tree of Lights fundraising campaign. The Tree of Lights campaign is Milbank Area Valley Hospice Avera’s only method of fundraising.
Hospice is a team of professionals – doctors, nurses, social workers, home health aides, and volunteers who provide medical, spiritual, and emotional support to the terminally ill, their families, and care givers. The organization provides equipment, such as hospital beds for in-home use, wheelchairs, medications, and other supplies.
This year’s Tree of Lights donors will receive a rocking horse tree ornament. The ornaments can be personalized in memory of or in honor of an individual. Tree of Lights donation forms are available at Milbank Area Hospital Avera and the local Avera Medical Group clinics in Milbank, Big Stone City, Revillo, Wilmot and Waubay.
A Tree of Lights ceremony is scheduled at the conclusion of the campaign on Sunday, January 8, at 2 p.m. in the Milbank Area Hospital Avera chapel. The hospital is located at 301 Flynn Drive. The public is invited.
