Math Counts is a nationwide program that provides math competitions using live contests. Students compete in sprint, target, team, and countdown rounds while solving math programs. The program was created in 1983 and is the longest-running math program still in existence. It is open to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. The Milbank students were selected based on the middle school math teachers’ recommendations and their math scores and grades.
