doug_wilkeValley Queen Cheese announced today its Board of Directors has chosen Doug Wilke as the company’s next CEO. Wilke comes to Milbank from Wisconsin and brings with him an impressive record of industry experience, product knowledge, and a ‘can do attitude’.

Ray Trankle, Valley Queen’s Board Chair said, “Our board took the job of hiring Valley Queen’s next CEO very seriously. We hired a top-notch executive search firm to conduct a nationwide search to find the best candidates possible. Doug was the cream of the crop! We feel with Doug at the helm, Valley Queen is poised to remain a leader in the cheese industry and will continue to grow.”

Wilke worked his way up the ranks at Foremost Farms USA in production management and vice president positions. He also was responsible for the sales and marketing divisions. Most recently, he was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President Dairy Ingredients and Product Technology. He also currently serves as the President of the American Dairy Products Institute and has served on the board of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association.

Doug’s wife, Lisa, has played an important role in his career and will join him in South Dakota. Their daughter, Hailey, is a college freshman attending school in Wisconsin.
